Food For Thought 🍎

For the past week we have had Jesica come in from the food for thought program to teach us about healthy eating.  And today we went to the supmarket and investigated how much sugar is really in our food.

It was a bit like a scavanger hunt.  We were given a sheet and in our groups we were each given a supermarket work sheet.  We had to find 2 healthy and non healthy Breakfast Ceareals, Breads, Muslie Bars, Snack Foods(Crackers, Chips & Biscuts) and Milk and Dairy Products(Chesse, Icecream, Yougurt & Flouvered Milk)

The things we had to look at on the nutrition area were, The Name of product, Energy,  Fat total, Sugar, Dietary Fibre and Sodium(Salt).

On Monday we came back to school.

We have a new teacher Ms Martin.

Every morning we go out to the basketball court.  Mrs Lyford sets a 3 minute timer and we run as many laps as we can and keep a score of them to see how many times we can bet our old times.

For school we had to create a new popcorn flavour.  

On Thursday we had a trial run for testing our popcorn flavours.  In my Team was Susie and Sophie.  The flavours we tried out were Butter and Bacon, Chesse and Bacon, KFC and Lemon and Lime.  In the end we done a survey around the class and the winner was KFC.  So on Friday we made our KFC popcorn and Our Princple and our theacher aids jugded them.  This is our Ingredenants list.

Last term our theme was animals, so we each picked an animal of our choice I chosse a hegdehog. 

As part of our topic we were ment to make our animals out of clay but we had to posbone it here is mine.

Twisted ANZAC Biscuts

Today I made ANZAC biscuts as part of our theme work but there was a twist!  We had to split the mixture into three and add to new ingrediants  into two of the split threeand leave one plain.  To mine I added black curants and dark chocolate and to my second ones I added Orange and Almonds.

As part of our reading we had to create a menu for a giant.  Our Reading topic is currently The BFG.  This is mine.

Our Menu had to include, 2 breakfast options,

2 lunch options, 2 dinner options and 2 dessert options.
